I was born in Antalya in 1972. My relationship with art began in childhood and gradually became a lifelong journey at the center of my life. I graduated from Özel Antalya Lisesi in 1990. I then studied Stage and Décor Design at Akdeniz University’s Serik Gülsün-Süleyman Süral Vocational School, where I gained an academic foundation in visual expression, space, form, and aesthetics.
The life experience I gained across different sectors allowed my artistic practice to become not only technical, but also a powerful field for observing people and life. During this period, I trained for four years in pencil drawing, oil painting, and sculpture at painter Ercan Talay’s studio. Between 2007 and 2011, I presented my work to audiences through workshops and group exhibitions.
Cinema has formed an important part of my artistic journey. What began with my work as an assistant in the film industry’s art department gradually developed into a multilayered practice encompassing design, execution, prop production, set decoration, and spatial organization. For me, cinema became more than a field of work; it was a living studio where light, texture, time, and story breathed together. Working across different disciplines was one of the most powerful experiences in deepening my visual memory and enriching my language of expression.
In my work for the film industry, I gained hands-on experience designing and applying a wide range of techniques, including acrylic, oil painting, watercolor, sculpture, relief, ceramics, installation, and costume design. I believe every material has its own memory and spirit, and I value entering into a dialogue with that spirit during the creative process. In projects where I was responsible for principal locations, I focused on implementation processes and spatial cohesion.
I am listed among the artists credited on IMDb. The film and television projects recorded there form an important part of my interdisciplinary practice between visual art and cinema.
Productions I have worked on include Takva, Babamın Sesi, Devrim Arabaları, Kim Bu Aile?, Mahalleden Arkadaşlar, Alev Alev, Oğlum, Düğün Dernek, Iguana Tokyo, Yeni Şafak Solarken, Hamlet, and various other national and international projects.
In 2011, I opened my solo relief exhibition “Peliküle Dokunmak” (Touching the Filmstrip), in which I explored the relationship between cinema and the plastic arts. The exhibition examined the image emerging from the surface into volume and cinematic memory taking on a tactile form.
In 2013, at the invitation of Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality, I carried out design and production work for several social awareness projects. My project “Bedenime Dokunma” (Do Not Touch My Body), designed to draw attention to child abuse, was exhibited at the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and received a commendation as one of the most effective projects in the field of social awareness.
That same year, my “Dilek Ağacı” (Wish Tree) project reinterpreted traditional cultural symbols through a contemporary, participatory work of public art. Shaped around the concepts of women, freedom, peace, and collective memory, the project became not only a visual installation but also a collective space of expression that made society’s hopes for the future visible.
I also took an active role in the preparation, set decoration, and filming of the commercial for Muratpaşa Municipality’s “Kadına Şiddete Hayır” (No to Violence Against Women) campaign.
Today I continue to work in painting, relief, sculpture, and custom design. The inner world of the individual, collective memory, women, children, vulnerability, resilience, and time hold an important place in my practice.
For me, art is not merely an aesthetic result, but a way of engaging deeply with life. Every work is born from a desire to make the invisible visible, transform feeling into form, and create a silent yet powerful connection with the viewer.
